    History of the Castle

ersas was the residence of the Lords of Montbrison in times of peace. The castle was built in the 15th century before the destruction of Brison. Louise de Montbrison, Lady of Versas, was married twice and had eight children. Only one Montbrison girl survived. Her children made up the second House of Montbrison and took the Sable, a tower argent (A silver tower on a black background ) coat of arms. They established their residence at Versas Castle until 1703.
Later the estate evolved into an agricultural property. in the 1970s the Vaschalde family sold the castle to Mr and Mrs Cedard who undertook its restoration. The castle tower is a listed historical monument.
The current owner is Dr Pierre Cedard.
